Whether you're looking forward to Valentines Day or not, it's coming. And this year the gods have seen fit to make it land on a Saturday. In some ways this is a good thing. You won't have to worry about going to the pub and being surrounded by couples. Because it's a weekend lots of people, couples or otherwise, will be out simply because that's the great British tradition. However, there is a downside. If you are single and you choose to spend Valentines Day at Liverpool clubs you could find yourself receiving some unwanted attention. Valentines Day makes everyone amorous, whether you want it or not.

If you are single and are actively seeking out 'pulling potential' you could do worse …

And now the year's over, a new one just begun, as someone famous once sang. But hold your horses, not yet, don't panic, it's OK. If you still haven't sorted out what you're doing for the big night there are loads of parties for New Years Eve in Liverpool clubs. The trouble I'm having is trying to figure out which one. So I've drawn up a list of all the events for New Years Eve in Liverpool clubs to try to narrow things down. Obviously if you're a Coral fan your night is already planned because they're playing at the Carling Academy. …

The British music industry has never been better – you only have to take one look at such awards as the NME and the Brits to see the huge range of talent out there at the moment. And we’re not talking about poxy reality TV shows, either – um, Chanelle what were you thinking?

One of the hottest rated bands to come out of Britain to date is The Guillemots (sorry, I mean gUiLLeMoTs). A personal favourite of mine, they’ve gone from strength to strength since they formed in late 2004. With a plethora of hits, including Trains to Brazil, which was an Itunes Single of the Week, celebrity fans that include Sir Paul McCartney, and a Brit nomination under their belt the future looks very rosy indeed for this talented band.
