New Years Eve in Liverpool restaurants

Fancy making New Year a real event instead of just a long, liquid descent into a woolly headed hangover? So do I. Each year I wish for this, but somehow something happens and the madness takes over. And then I wake with a headache and all of sudden it's January.

This year I'm not going to let this happen which is why I'm planning to spend my New Years Eve in Liverpool restaurants. OK, I may be strapped for cash, but I'd like to spend what I have on good food rather than waking up on January 1 with a vague memory of a cashpoint, waving money at a barman and then a cab-ride home with no money and having to go via a cashpoint again. This little tradition ends up with me spending January scared of cashpoints and what they might tell me about my overdraft.

Anyway, there's plenty going on for New Years Eve in Liverpool restaurants to justify their hefty price tag. At Osqa they're having a black-tie dinner. When you arrive they'll be serving up canapes and cocktails followed by a slap-up six-course meal and then, out on the terrace, there'll be fireworks, Champagne and a sing-song of Auld Lang Syne.  And all that's only £55.

If you fancy having a blow-out New Years Eve in Liverpool restaurants then head over to 60 Hope Street which is hosting a Champagne reception, a five-course meal and music and dancing till the early hours. It's £85 per person but it's sure to be a night to remember.
For a cheaper New Years Eve in Liverpool restaurants you could head over to the Olive Press which is only £35.

Or you could try to forget the wintry weather and have a New Year Cuban-style. Alma De Cuba is hosting probably one of the best New Years Eve in Liverpool restaurants with their Cuban night. It's £60 per person and there'll be bongo players, saxophonists and dancers. If you don't have the meal it's worth a look anyway as it's only £10 entry on the door.  Whatever you end up doing this New Year I hope it's a good one.
