Went to Heebie Jeebies for my birthday and absolutely loved it! The music was fabulous and refreshing when all you here is avicii everywhere else! The bouncers were fine, in fact there was a long queue (saturday night) in the rain and they were only letting one group in as another came out but when we got to the front and asked if we could stand under the bouncer's umbrella he said 'just go right in' even though it wasn't time for us to yet which us girls really did appreciate as the rain did not work wonders for our hair!
The atmosphere is great, although very busy and seemed to take forever to get a drink but what will really make me go back again was the music they played and how original and unique the place felt. Best night I've had in Liverpool!

Amazing atmosphere with decent DJ's. Would recommend the week night Acoustic Sessions. Good cocktails and nice staff to top it off.

Whats happened to this place?! Back in the city for a friends 25th so we all decided to go to heebies. After everyone putting their id in the id scanner we were asked to show it again when we went upstairs. My friend had hers back in her bag an was rummaging to find it when the doorman shoved her backwards into a wall saying if she can't find it get out. We all started complaining an were told to "shut up or see what happens". After a short argument about how heavy handed he was to women we decided to leave.
On the way out the ground floor exit we saw a young lad find a fiver on the floor only to be pulled by another bouncer and have it snatched off him! The lad didn't seem to bothered but what kind of people are working the doors there?!
Its never ok to shove someone looking for id, ask them to step aside but never shove anyone, especially a girl.

Won't be going back an will be tellling people to avoid the place at all cost.

I was refused entry into this "establishment" for being to drunk, this seems an implausible as i don't drink! The door staff seemed to think this was hilarious, ive reported this to Liverpool city council and have also noticed there are hundreds of online complaints!

Be careful! Bouncers at Heebie Jeebies are violent, liars. It seems strange to say but they really beat you for nothing. Where is the manager when all this happen? Oh yeah, he will not show up. Miserable place. Miserable management. And again violent, dangerous bouncers.

Visited Heebie Jeebies last night with a group of female friends. Despite being 38 years old, I was told that I would not be allowed in without photographic id. After explaining that we were visitors to the city from Cheltenham and that we didn't realise that we would require id at our ages,i was verbally abused by one of the doormen. When asked his name,he told me to f**k off and called me a tramp. I have never felt so humiliated in my life, particularly as this was in front of a large queue of people. He made us feel physically intimidated. It really spoilt the night and I will not be in a hurry to return to Liverpool. I am now going to do as one of the fellow posters has suggested and make a complaint to the police licensing department as well as review Heebie Jeebies on every forum I can find in order to warn other people how poorly run and unprofessional the security is at Heebie Jeebies.

Was here last weekend and had a ball i was out with workmates. There was 9 of us were out in total an we're all asked for I.d which seemed stupid as we're all in our 30's however the bouncers explained why it was needed so we were quite happy to supply it. despite the previous reviews about the bouncers being brutal they were all quite pleasant with us and so were all the bar staff. funky music fab atmosphere and will look forward to the next night out at heebies. I would just suggests some drink promotions as an improvement but even so we will still be back soon! ;)

I was in Heebie Jeebies last wekend for my friends Stag do and can honestly recommend this club to anyone! We had one of our best ever nights. Huge place with a massive beer garden and a real mix of different tunes. Staff were ok and we got served pretty quick but it is the music that made the night!

i have had to put a 1 star rating but would not even give this) i use to luv this place but tried to go here on wed (16/05/12)with friends from spain. we was asked for ID & we informed them that we didn't have any but asked why? 2 very rude bouncers said "cos its the policy" i noticed neither of them had their sia badges on and asked where their ID's where as i feel it a little hypocritical that they insist on asking customers to show theres but fail to adhere to regulations. i was replied to with "what the f~ck has it got to do with you?" i told him that as i work for the council i am aware for licensing and security regulations. i was insulted further by another he said "my wife works for the council & i bet she higher up than you so shut up!" i asked for their names as i was not happy with the way they were treating potential customers and would be complaining. they refused to give their names and one of them told me "complain all you like it's happened before and i just tell them i had lost it and nothing happens" i tried to take a photo of them with my phone (which did acually get one in focus) he than became aggressive and threated me by telling me "i'll take your phone off you and smash it to f#uckin pieces" i told him if he did i would call the police and have him arrested for criminal damage. he said "do it i'll tell the police lies and actually get you arrested i do it all the time the police will believe me before you." we called a cab and left i certainly will never go here again and advise anyone who is treated in the way to complain to merseyside police licensing team (as i have) on 0151 777 4832 as it is the only way to deal with these bullies.

Within literally 30 seconds of walking in I was tapped on the shoulder by a bouncer who said he heard a report of me flicking a cigarette in a ladies drink. I calmly explained that I had just walked in and they had the wrong guy, I emptied my pockets to show that I don't smoke but this fell on deaf ears. He informed me that I either had to leave or buy the lady and her male friend a drink. It all felt a bit dodgy and I got the impression that they were in it together trying to hustle me. Again I said I had just walked in and I couldn't have possibly done this and I had friends who could verify my story. After refusing to buy drinks I was escorted out. I couldn't believe it. Never been treated so badly in my life, despite being sober and trying to make my point in a respectful fashion. I usually like the place but I think they really have to sort out their over-zealous door staff. Used to go quite a lot but never returning on principal.

Despite the previous review, I found the security staff entirely inflexible regarding door policy. Attending the venue with 8+ friends, 3 of us where denied entry to the basement level despite being accepted into the ground/1st floor venue. All of the denied individuals were clearly >20 years old (29, 34 and 36 years old) and all in possession of appropriate professional regulatory ID (e.g. HPC registration). Despite allowing entry to other members of the group without requiring ID, the aforementioned individuals where denied entry demonstrating an inconsistent and inappropriate approach to door management.Given that a number of the group do not drive and the expectation to carry a passport (every time you are out!) is unacceptable due to the risk of theft (especially in a busy venue) or shear practicality renders this location entirely invalid unless every member of a group possesses either; 1) a valid/fake driving license, 2) a valid/fake passport or 3) a form of ID which subverts the fact of being > 18 years of age (e.g. a PASS card), this sets a dangerous president in door policy. For example, a 89 year old person approaches for admission, not in possession of a driving license or passport, they are rejected entry due to lack of identification...this is ridiculous! Fair proof of age should be acceptable in any circumstance unless a centrally enforced ID scheme is instigated nationally (otherwise simply use NI numbers which prove ID/age) as any schemes currently in place are by no means universal. It is understandable, and indeed entirely acceptable, to deny entry on the grounds of violent/abusive behaviour (or other factors), however, and inconsistent and illogical nature of the policy (above) will only act to the detriment of the bar/pub trade and thus dissuade people from attending such establishments. A degree of sense in door staff should be expected when presented with persons clearly >21 yo otherwise why not 'challenge 30' or ' challenge 80'??

Good all through the week, especially Mondays. Drinks can be a little expensive (£3.40 for a single amaretto and coke, for example) but it's worth it for the atmosphere and the music. There's a big courtyard inside for smoking too, so you don't need to go outside to smoke. For the previous reviews complaining about needing photo ID, that is the policy for most places in town and only works because it applies to everyone. If you've got a problem with getting asked for ID, you shouldn't go out in town.

4/5 - One star off for the cost of drinks, otherwise it'd be a 5/5.

Used to be a nice bar, good music and atmosphere. I arranged to meet some friends there last Saturday night. Unfortunately as previous reviews suggest the bouncers are far from friendly. They demanded photo id, which I didn't have, so I wasn't allowed into the club. When I turned back to ask if that policy was enforced every night, they said "Oh for ** sake, what do you want now?" Not nice. Apart from that, I go out in Liverpool regularly and can't think of one other bar that enforces this policy. Amounts to a blatant infringement of civil liberties. I don't want to carry my passport around with me everywhere, and I'm even less inclined to have it scanned. So in future I won't bother with Heebies - plenty of other bars, it's their loss not mine :(

They've seen to have instigated some ridiculous door policy where everyone entering needs I.D to get in, went to watch kappa on sunday night and the brain dead chimps on the door wouldn't let me in "without I.D. to prove your over 18" being a well adjusted and well behaved 47 year old I remonstrated with these individuals but to no avail "its de policy lad, I can see your over 18 but can't let you in wivout I.D."said someone old enough to be my grandson(on steroids) just as a 30 Something crowd turned up and got the same treatment, anyway took my cash off to another late night boozer as I think a lot of others may well do.
