We moved to Burscough just 4 months ago and have visited a few of the pubs already. Even though some are in walking distance we prefer to ride our bikes out to the Farmers as the food and service is by far the best. Deborah and Dave, the landlady and landlord are very welcoming. They even gave us a table overlooking our bikes so as to keep an eye on them.

Called in on a saturday night and was surprised to find it empty,only two or three diners.
never judge a book by its cover so gave the food a go!
Not good!
For what it was then the price should be about £3.95 instead of £12.95
As soon as the over-priced starter was over the main course was delivered.
The beer was good but the wine not good.
Might be ok for a pint and snack during the day.
My girlfreind was horrified at the state of toilet,I waited untill I got home.

Stumbled upon The Farmers Arms on our way to Martin Mere and so glad we did! The location is beautiful with a lovely view of the canal and the food was great. The service was fast and you could tell the food was all freshly prepared. We're going again for my birthday next month!

Dont bother! Miserable staff and unbelievably rude owners!(which is probably why the staff are so miserable) food is very average and drinks are overpriced! If you want a good meal, nice atmosphere and staff that actually crack a smile then do not go to Farmers Arms!

A Very surprising review, it is always possible to get a substandard meal anywhere on the odd occasion but never before have myself and Deborah ever been called rude, we enjoy our job and are known for our hospitality because we enjoy meeting people, unfortunately though we do have to deal with the odd person who does make it their hobby to travel from place to place trying to get a free meal and this was most certainly the case in this instance.
You will always get a full refund for a genuine grievance at the Farmers because we want you back time and time again, we did however decide on this instance that this foul mouthed individual is not welcome at the Farmers.

I cannot understand this review! I have been a number of times and ALWAYS enjoyed the evening- otherwise why would I go back? Staff are friendly, prices are reasonable and surroundings beautiful. Once, when one of the two meals we ordered was not available we were offered and accepted a more expensive meal for the lower price alongside a gracious apology. I cannot rate the place high enough- ignore the totally inaccurate comment given by stey8!

you are right about the pub, its a shit place and no wonder the staff are miserable because the owners just have a go at them when they haven't done anything wrong!

The farmers arms has really friendly staff and the food is pretty good with lots of choice.

I do not understand anyone who complains about the food in the farmers arms.We have travelled all around the area and it is way ahead of the other numerous places we have been.

We always gother for special or not so special occasions.#
