86 Mill Lane,
Halton Castle Information
Fantastic lively local pub recently refurbished staff very friendly and helpful. Karaoke on a Monday night, Quiz Night and Play your cards right on a Tuesday night. We also cater for functions eg. christenings, funerals and birthdays. Enjoy real cask ales timothy landlords, black sheep and many more. The owners took over this pub in April 2010 and have another four pubs in the area which have been very successful they include the Deyesbrook in West Derby, the Bulldog also in West Derby. the Falstaff in Gateacre and the newly refurbished Old Mill in Prescot which will be opening on the 6th of this month. These other four pubs also have live entertainment, serve food and have a friendly atmosphere from both staff and customers so why not try out the Halton Castle as your first stop off point you will not be disappointed.
New owners re-opened pub at Easter.
The pub has been decorated and is much brighter with some of the partitions removed and the re-upholstered with flat screen telly's in all 4 rooms.
Selling 3 casks beers when I visited - Cain's/Black Sheep/Landlord.
Tried the Black Sheep and Landlord. Reasonable quality and very well priced.
Service friendly. No jukebox/loud music, ideal for the traditional pub customer, couples, older sports fans.
Perhaps a cask guest ale in future?
Probably the best pub in West Derby, I'll certainly be visiting more often in future.
