New decor, new heavy-handed door policy. Don't dance or have a good time in here - the door staff, one of whom doesn't seem to dress as a doorman, will grab you by the neck, rough you up and forcibly eject you. We were so shocked at what we witnessed, we left - entirely of our own accord.

In the months I was frequenting the place - it was very nice.

I am sure it was just a one off, but I seem to remember a doorman of this pub wouldn't allow me entry because I had a disability.....(he thought I was drunk but even after I explained my "problem" he couldnt back down from his original decision)

Arrogonce at its worst.

For many years I have been going to the Jacaranda or the 'Jac' as its commonly known, and I have always loved going and enjoyed myself there. However after me and my boyfriend where charged for three drinks, when we only requested two my view has changed. When trying to seek assistance form a young gentleman claiming to be the manager [I later found out from the bouncer he was only the assistant] we where met with arguments that 'his staff are right and they know what they are doing'. Me and my boyfriend didnt doubt that, and can only assume that the bar staff made an error when imputting our order into the till. The 'manager' said he would check the cctv, which we are very sure he didnt do, seeing as he was gone for less than a minute, and working in a bar myself I know it takes a little longer than that. His way to solve ths problem was just throw us out. Which was both hilarious and also showed his lack of professionalism and knowledge in how to deal with a situation like that.

I would most deffinatly not reccomend this bar for a night out, as I feel that if you where to have a 'real' problem in the establishment, there would not be sufficent staff there trained to help you.

Shame as its one of the few pubs in Liveprool city centre with real character!
