My husband and I went for a 2 course meal with wine included to The Village Inn. We had a little difficulty booking a table but on the night the food and service more than made up for it. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food - prawn cocktail and soup followed by steaks and homemade chips were absolutely yummy. Even if we had been paying full price, it would have been just as good food for a fraction of the price of so-called gastro-pubs. I would probably never have heard of this place had it not been for Groupon, but it is well worth seeking out.

We went to the Village Inn in Aintree last week for our Sunday Lunch as my parents live close by. It was taken over by the Orr family some time ago but we just didn't think about going there for food as it was more of watering hole before. All I can say is that we were totally shocked at how amazing the food was. It is real homemade food. We all had two course and I have the homemade soup which was tomato and basil absolutely delicious as good as any top restaurant we have been too, my partner had a prawn cocktail and the quantity of prawns he was delighted with and the presentation wonderful.

Then for our mains we had their what I would say has to be the best roast dinner I have ever eaten, sorry mum..
The meat was beautifully cooked I opted for Lamb and the vegetables where fresh and sweet. The Roast potatoes where to die for and the homemade yorkshire pudding was the icing on top.

I would highly recommend The Aintree Village Inn as a place to go with your family, or a couple, there weren't too many children also I think because they don't have a play area it doesn't attract too many but I did see some families eating and they had highchairs, colouring books given by the waiter and they looked well behaved..

I had to write this as sometimes you forget to give credit where it's due and they certainly have a great chef at the village inn.
