I was visiting Liverpool on business and visited the Bistro on Tuesday night after experimenting in the Bier Keller. I enjoyed the whole experience from stoat ale in the Bier Keller to the refreshing french ambiance of the Bistro Pierre. The Cordon Bleu cuisine offered a number of culinary delights which were very pleasing to my refined palate. The service was excellent and the wash room very clean. All in all very good value for money although they don't accept euros yet. I am due to visit Liverpool again in December and will most definitely be paying another visit, irrespective of where my colleagues have planned for our Christmas meal.

I went to this restaurant with a group of work colleagues and did not know what to expect because the person who recommended it, is not very credible. However I was truly impressed and now see my work colleague in a different light due to her exquisite taste. There was a good variety of classic french cuisine to choose from and a selection of fine french wines - I must of tried at least 6 (bottles). A friendly, french and fun atmosphere was created by the staff who went out of their way to make my visit rememberable (even after 6 bottles of wine!) and truly enjoyable. It was good value for money according to my colleagues who paid for me and I would definiteley go back there again.
The only downside was a annoying customer sitting in the corner who had the most awful cackle when she laughed but then again I am used to this because you usually find one in every office.

I first visited Bistro Pierre for a Christmas work party which I thoroughly enjoyed, the atmosphere was lively and reminded me of sitting in a French bistro in Paris, the wine was free flowing and the meals were on time and tasted great.

Last week I was looking for a place to take my wife to celebrate our anniversary and Bistro Pierre was the first that shot to mind. She had not visited the restaurant before but I know she loves the whole French theme and she was not dissappointed. My wife ordered the chicken liver pate to start while I ordered the chargrilled chicken & crispy pancetta salad. Both came without much of a wait and were delightful and not too filling. As a main course my wife chose the duck breast and I chose the garlic & herb crusted lamb rump - Both were cooked to perfection.

I'm not a dessert man, but my wife got the Creme Brulee, which she loved. Presentation was top notch, service was friendly and efficient, food was great and the atmosphere is bustling in a way, but feels very private and romantic also. I would recommend this to anyone in Liverpool or visiting the city. It's situated right by the Cavern Quarter for anyone interested in the music scene and is the perfect place to start a night on the town or to end it, with a great selection of wines you could stay there all night!

This used to be my favourite restaurant, but I fear the standards have slipped somewhat.

The menu, for a start has changed to cheaper ingredients and dishes that lack the former quality and variety.

We were sat down and were not offered any drinks until our order was taken. My starter was wrong, so they threw the right one together on a plate with salad leaves that looked a week old.

The food didn't seem fresh at all and the presentation was bad. For my main, the meat was cold, potatoes were burned and not enough veg was served for the table of five people, it was barely enough for three.

I think they really need to re-think their menu, presentation and service before I return
