I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. My husband and I arrived by cycles for lunch. We chained the bikes up and walked in. We waited ages before anyone approached us they were not busy there appeared to be only about 8 people dining. When a waitress eventually came over she gave us such a look of contempt I nearly walked out. She did not speak a word of English to us but shoved the menu in our hands and left us standing there. We were astonished by her total lack of customer service. We glanced at the menu and the first thing I saw was shark fin soup. That was it we were out of there. Not only was the lack of hospitality totally lacking ( why would you want to give your money to them?) but if you knew how shark fin soup gets to your plate you would avoid the Chung Ku too.

We go there ever week during the daytime & never have we had any such treatment. Through the years we have started to know all the staff, and not one has a bad word.

I shall tell them about this as the Sharkfin has been taken off the menu, due to some Animal Activist they have been on about. So there is note taken from them, but if you refer to most Chinese restaurants which we know of in Liverpool and Manchester, they have it on their menu. You could say we are frequent Chinese food eaters!

You and the other cyclist, which seems fishy have no good word to say but be some keyboard warrior stuck behind a computer screen. If you haven't got a good word, keep it to yourself because your upset us as regular customers, whom we dont lie, but is excellent for the price and quality. Maybe they dont like the look of you!ha

Tony.

Cannot agree with the review of this restaurant. The duck I had must have died of old age, it was terrible. Not one of the members of staff enquired if we enjoyed the food. For the price I would certainly not recommend this restaurant. Save money and go to your local take away!!!

I can't fault the food or the service and the view is excellent. The restaurant is very clean and I have only one complaint. This complaint is that they levy a service charge! I am of the opinion that the customer should give whatever they think the restaurant deserves. If I had been left to show my appreciation in the form of a tip, I would have given more than the 10% service charge requested in this instance. The reason I didn't is because it was added to the bill. I abhor the practice of service charges in restaurants and think it should be banned!
