Arriving through the door to be greeted by absolutely no-one; was probably not the best way to start the evening, from then on in it got gradually worse.
The starter: Avocado and Gorgonzola salad - half an avocado sliced and what I can only describe as a "blob" of gorgonzola accompanied by a little bit of rocket salad. This wasn't particularly satisfying.
The main: Sea bass with a pepper salsa was anaemic and tasteless, the salsa totally overpowered the fish.
The Dessert: cheese board was fine only to be served with some kind of fruit toast, not a waterbiscuit or simple cracker in sight! Very disappointing.
The wine - as there was a large party upstairs most of the wine we chose wasn't available....disappointing.
The service : nice, pleasant waiter although he questioned why I chose to drink red wine when I had ordered fish.....my preferrence!!
The bill approx £50 each!
I would not return to Colin's Bridewell and have told friends and family to steer clear.
We should have gone for a pizza!
