The ViewLiverpool Review
If you're looking for class, flair and light entertainment, The Living Room is the place for you.
The Venue
Situated in Victoria Street, a stone’s throw from Moorfields Station and Queen's Square, The Liverpool Living Room is part of the small chain of bars that can be found in the likes of London, Manchester and Nottingham and this one offers a place for the working professionals of Liverpool to unwind.
The decor is classic with polished wood floors and furniture that contrast with luminous green plants set in each corner. It's spacious and the large side windows offer plenty of light. It's a refreshing atmosphere that's perfect for the summer. A baby grand piano is the centrepiece and it adds a bit of style as well as entertainment in the form of blues, rock and pop. The plasma screens behind the bar also catch your attention as they show fashion TV news reels.
The People
This swanky bar is the hangout for Liverpool's It crowd. Smart professionals come here to chill out after work or while away their Sundays with a newspaper and a pint. It's also the place to be seen with a cocktail on a Friday night and most of the crowd who come here are heading to the upstairs private members' club, The Vampire Suite.
The Living Room staff are friendly and exceptional at what they do. There is no wait at the bar to quench your thirst. They are quick and professional and it is their level of service that makes the venue one of the best in Liverpool. They work with effortless flair and you will be treated as a valued guest as opposed to just another customer.
The Food and Drinks
The menu offers a range of traditional pub grub as well as a few Oriental inspired dishes. There's steak, ale and mushroom pie for £10.95 or a quarter Peking duck with pancakes for £7.95. A children's menu is also available.
Whatever your taste The Living Room can adapt to it. In true cocktail bar style the menu has for something for everyone - from Champagne flutes to hot alcoholic tipples. The cocktail menu is a comprehensive guide to everything they offer and they even have a section dedicated to wines and drinks of the month to make your choice easier. The prices are upmarket but remain average for this area of Liverpool. Their cocktails average out at £5 to £8 and Champagnes go from £76 to £295 a bottle.
The Last Word
The Living Room is a classic venue and after eight years of providing Liverpool's top professionals with excellent service and products they're still going strong and set very high standards.
