Ristorante Antonelli

TASTELESS FOOD / WASTE OF MONEY (chef and/or Manager on holiday?)WE WENT HERE FOR DINNER A FEW WEEKS AGO ON A FRIDAY EVENING JUST AFTER OPENING. Nice place, food presentation itself good BUT actual food completely tasteless. Difficult to catch waiter's eye as we were in a raised rear corner.

They should really have kept an eye on us instead of me having to go to the bar to order olives which arrived very cold straight out of a jar of very cheap basic olives in brine. Had to then ask for oil and balsamic to add some taste.

I ordered cannelloni which I expected to be full of mincemeat not spinach and ricotta but no offer was made to replace (my mistake for not checking first although normally this is a meat dish but even so ... she said that's the way it's is and walked away).

I was starving but still couldn't eat it as it was so watery and tasteless. Husband had Risotto. Again tasteless like frozen chicken strips cooked in watery gravy and the risotto rice added. Couldn't attract any staff's attention and we were quite embarassed to get up and walk out but we did (never done this before) so went to the till to pay. Girl at till and our waitress didn't even ask why we were leaving but a waiter went passed who did.

John told him, VERY politely, but he gave no comment, not even an apology and just walked away ............ What can I say? Very surprised no one cared .... we eat out a lot so they've just lost 2 good customers and we won't be recommending Antonelli's to anyone in Waterloo/Crosby where we live. Very disapointed on a Friday night after a long week and a spoilt the evening. Still starving so got a takeaway!

Much better than pizza express and ask. Cheaper and it tastes more authentic
